Topic: Castration

The conversation shifts to the ancient cult of the mother goddess Cybele and her consort Attis. Twyman details the historical rituals where priests, known as Galli, would castrate themselves in a religious frenzy during the Hilaria festival in late March. This mythology of death and resurrection is presented as a precursor to similar themes found in later religious traditions.

Dr. Hillman discusses the Roman importation of the worship of "The Great Mother" (Cybele), which involved public self-castration by young boys. He notes that Roman authors like Catullus immediately switched to using female pronouns for these individuals, indicating an ancient acceptance of gender transition within a religious context. The segment also touches on the chemical changes resulting from castration and the use of eunuchs in the "kingdom of God" as mentioned by Jesus.

The hosts discuss the decline of the "erotic drive" in youth due to chemical and technological factors. Knowles posits that certain influential groups, such as those in the coding community, are being prepared as "vessels" for non-human entities through cultural and biological shifts.

The act of police kneeling to protesters is compared to ancient rituals where men would publicly castrate themselves for the "Great Mother." Knowles suggests that the current social climate mirrors ancient parades where martyred gods were mourned through self-sacrifice.

The ancient cult of Cybele, a mother goddess imported from Phrygia to Rome, involved intense rituals including the self-castration of priests in honor of her son-consort, Attis. Mythology describes Cybele inducing madness in Attis, leading to his mutilation and death after he attempted to marry another. These rites were historically performed during a festival at the end of March, marking the transition of the seasons and the resurrection of the deity.
