Topic: Mithraic Cult

A "golden thread" of esoteric knowledge, including Mithraic influences and the Chaldean Oracles, was preserved by figures like Michael Psellos during the 10th and 11th centuries. This system prioritizes experiential reality and reincarnation over doctrinaire theology. Adams suggests that this worldview is self-perpetuating because it is rooted in personal moral development and energetic experience rather than external rules.

Knowles discusses the trend of "elite androgyny" and its historical roots in Sumerian and Egyptian cultures, linking it to modern shifts in gender identity and pronouns. He posits that the suppression of the "erotic drive" through technology and chemicals is part of a process to prepare humans as vessels for androgynous entities. He references the castration rituals of ancient Mithraic cults as a historical precedent for modern medical trends.

The conversation addresses the "grim" nature of these topics, with Knowles explaining that cascading natural disasters and social crumbling are part of a renewal process. He links the heightening of awareness to "initiation by ordeal," noting that shamans and mystics throughout history often gained their powers through significant trauma. This trauma is seen as a mechanism that opens the human psyche to subtle, non-human forces.

The Mithraic cult and associated pagan ideas saw a significant revival in the 10th and 11th centuries under figures like Michael Psellos. Unlike rigid church theology, this esoteric system is described as an experiential approach to reality rooted in the concept of reincarnation. This worldview emphasizes personal moral development and the continuity of the "golden thread" of ancient knowledge through history.
