Fear of Consequence, Overcoming Inertia through Wagers
Human nature often uses the fear of consequence as an excuse for inertia, leading people to remain in unfulfilling jobs or social situations. Taking a "vivifying wager" to exit a negative situation usually reveals that the actual consequences are far less severe than the exaggerated fears held by the individual.
