Topic: Homoeroticism

The Sola Busca is the first deck in history to feature fully illustrated suit cards, which Adams believes were used to amplify the deck's ritual practices. Some cards suggest patterns of ritualized homoerotic activity and the use of biological substances like semen and menstrual fluid in Renaissance magic. Many of these suit cards remain undecrypted, presenting a challenge for future cryptanalysis.

The discussion expands to include insights from Dr. Jeff Kripal regarding the "sublimated male homoeroticism" inherent in the Catholic priesthood and Christian history. Kripal argues that an all-male institution worshipping a male deity naturally selects for "gay spiritualities." This is paired with further excerpts from Dr. Hillman's book about the "Order of Draco" and the use of ritual sodomy to "root out female allure" and create a unique psychological state in early Christian converts.
