Dark City comes up in 4 chapters across 4 episodes of The Higherside Chats Free Show, from April 2013 to August 2026.
Dark City, Collective Energy and 3:30 AM Magic
Referencing the movie Dark City, the hosts discuss the unique energy of the world at 3:30 AM when the collective consciousness is powered down. They suggest that the "system" performs "housecleaning" and creation during these hours. This quiet period is viewed as a time when manifestation and synchronicities are more easily processed by the reality simulator.
Underwater Cities, Ancient Technology and Cthulhu Manifestation
A treasure hunter reportedly discovered an unknown underwater city featuring geometric structures and artifacts resembling Baghdad batteries. Stanley discusses the potential for ancient high-technology societies that were suppressed by academic and religious institutions. He references H.P. Lovecraft's fiction as a potential framework for understanding the re-emergence of these lost civilizations and "Old Ones" in the modern era.
Westworld Backstory, Dark City and Simulation Start Dates
Howdy Mikoski uses the films Westworld and Dark City as metaphors for a simulation where history and personal memories are merely "backstory" programmed into participants. He questions when the current simulation actually began, suggesting it could be as recent as 2010 or at most 500 to 2,000 years ago. He further theorizes that humanity is "devolving" as the simulation's code becomes increasingly degraded over time.
Citi Field, Pittsburgh Stadium, and the Biohazard Symbol
Kent Bain points out that Citi Field in New York is located where "Strike Zone 2" appears on the Gotham map in The Dark Knight Rises. He notes that the Mets are playing Pittsburgh—the city where the movie was filmed—on the day The Great Gatsby is released. The segment also explores the Citibank logo as a red crescent moon and its potential connection to the biohazard symbol.
