The year 2013 marked the 900th anniversary of the Knights of Malta and the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, aligning with a Cathar prophecy from 1313 AD. The date 11/22 is significant in Templar history as the day Christian monarchs were ordered to arrest the order in 1307. The Vatican’s acquisition of a painting depicting JFK in a "Pieta" pose with Jackie Kennedy is cited as an "on the nose" confirmation of these esoteric links.

The conversation explores the relationship between NASA and the CIA, with Jim Fetzer claiming the space agency functions as a branch of intelligence. He references the NDAA 2013 as a turning point for legalizing domestic propaganda. A quote attributed to former CIA Director William Casey regarding the success of disinformation campaigns is used to frame the discussion.

Greg Carlwood and Kyle Prundiville conclude the final episode of 2013 by reflecting on the growth of The Higherside Chats. Carlwood teases a strong lineup of "power player" guests for early 2014 and thanks the audience for their support throughout the year. The show ends with a final reminder about the THC Money Bomb and a wish for listeners to avoid the impending "zombie apocalypse."

James Corbett discusses his presentation at the FOSA 2013 conference in France, where he spoke about applying open-source principles to journalism. Unlike mainstream media, open-source journalism involves providing direct links to source documents and encouraging audience skepticism. Corbett argues that citizens must move from being passive receptacles of information to active participants in verifying the news to shape a better future.
