The Doctors comes up in 2 chapters across 2 episodes of The Higherside Chats Free Show, from March 2019 to April 2020.
Origins of ICAN and the Vaxxed Documentary
Del Bigtree recounts his transition from a CBS producer to a vaccine advocate following the production of the film Vaxxed. He clarifies that the film focuses on scientific fraud at the CDC regarding the MMR vaccine rather than a general anti-vaccine stance.
Del Bigtree, Investigative Journalism and Pediatrician Education
Investigative journalist Del Bigtree joins the program to discuss his transition from producing the daytime talk show The Doctors to investigating vaccine safety. Bigtree argues that while pediatricians are held on a pedestal, their medical school education regarding vaccines is often limited to administration techniques rather than biochemical ingredients or safety science. He emphasizes that journalists play a critical role in auditing government and scientific claims when regulatory bodies fail to do so.
