Topic: Subtle Body

Mainstream science often views consciousness as a temporary byproduct of brain activity, but Michael Cremo proposes that humans are a combination of matter, mind, and consciousness. In his book Human Devolution, he argues that the conscious self can exist independently of the physical body. This Vedic perspective suggests that understanding what a human being actually is must precede any theory of human origins.

Using a modern metaphor, Michael Cremo compares the universe's preservation of life to "cloud computing," where higher realms store the "files" of life to repopulate Earth after cataclysms. He explains phenomena like genetic memory, deja vu, and instant connections with strangers as the soul tapping into a reservoir of memories from millions of past lifetimes. These experiences are carried by the subtle mental body even after the physical body perishes.
