Dr. DC Ammon Hillman | Sex, Drugs, Jesus, & Snake Venom Assassins Of Antiquity
Castration Rituals, The Great Mother, and Roman Transgenderism
Dr. Hillman discusses the Roman importation of the worship of "The Great Mother" (Cybele), which involved public self-castration by young boys. He notes that Roman authors like Catullus immediately switched to using female pronouns for these individuals, indicating an ancient acceptance of gender transition within a religious context. The segment also touches on the chemical changes resulting from castration and the use of eunuchs in the "kingdom of God" as mentioned by Jesus.
