Tim Taylor presented the Bledsoe family with exotic metals or metamaterials to test their physical reactions. Ryan Bledsoe describes feeling a gentle electrical current while holding the materials, a sensation shared by his immediate family but not by his then-girlfriend. Taylor claimed this served as a test used by the Invisible College to verify genuine entity contact, noting that Chris Bledsoe had an exceptionally intense reaction that caused his vision to black out.

The "Visitors in the Trees" account includes physical details such as a being wearing a specific necklace and the extreme physiological stress experienced by the witnesses. The mother required hospitalization for dehydration and fever, while a child ground their teeth down during the night. Strieber argues these severe physical reactions serve as evidence that the encounters are real rather than imagined.
