Professor Jiang provides historical context for the 17th-century Jewish diaspora, citing the trauma of the 1492 expulsion from Spain and subsequent persecutions. When Sabbatai Zevi was given the choice by the Ottoman Sultan to convert to Islam or face execution, his choice to convert shocked his followers. Jiang explains the theological justification used by Zevi's adherents: that the Messiah had to descend into sin and conversion to redeem those who had previously been forced to abandon their faith.

David Icke details the origins of a 17th-century cult led by Sabbatai Zevi, a Sephardic Jewish man who claimed to be the Messiah. Icke explains the cult's practice of "inversion," where religious taboos were encouraged, and describes how the group became known as the Donmeh after outwardly converting to Islam in the Ottoman Empire while practicing their beliefs in secret.

The Piri Reis map of 1513 is examined for its inclusion of South America and Antarctica with accurate longitude, a feat supposedly impossible for 16th-century Europeans. Flem-Ath asserts that the map shows Antarctic features currently hidden beneath ice, suggesting it was compiled from much older source maps created by an advanced civilization roughly 12,000 years ago.
