A researcher describes facing significant professional friction in 2008 after presenting a paper titled Thoughts Lead Into Action, which traced the oil interests behind the climate agenda. Academic supervisors at the Climate Policy Center in Norrköping discouraged the research, citing its potential to jeopardize funding tied to the established climate narrative. The experience characterizes modern climate science as a dogmatic belief system rather than a neutral field of inquiry.

In 2019, a pilot project in Norrköping, Sweden, attempted to implement Bluetooth tracking bracelets for children in kindergartens to monitor attendance via geofencing. The project was halted following intense backlash from the public and the Swedish Data Protection Authority. This incident is cited as evidence that there are limits to what citizens will accept, potentially slowing the timeline for more invasive technocratic measures.
