Trey Hudson recounts the January 2016 expedition that shifted his team's focus from a local "haunted road" to a specific base camp location. A team member named Bob witnessed a silent bolt of lightning followed by a large luminous orb that moved sideways across the sky. The object featured a black pinprick that expanded like a camera iris before winking out, leading the researchers to prioritize the surrounding topography for further study.

The documentary Transmutation posits that what society considers "normal" is actually a false and abnormal construct designed to contain human potential. The creators emphasize the relationship between beauty and truth, aiming to produce an independent film with high aesthetic substance to mirror metaphysical depth. The narrative is designed to welcome beginners while containing symbolic "codes" for advanced students of mysticism.
