John Gotti comes up in 2 chapters across 2 episodes of The Higherside Chats Free Show, from May 2014 to April 2020.
Ghislaine Maxwell and the Failure to Indict Procurers
Nick Bryant criticizes the Justice Department for failing to indict Ghislaine Maxwell and other known procurers despite public evidence of their involvement. He compares the situation to law enforcement ignoring the associates of a mob boss like John Gotti, suggesting the media is complicit in the lack of justice.
Social Control, The Sandbox Metaphor
Maxwell describes the masses as children playing in a "sandbox" while the authorities, or "masters," allow them to enjoy distractions like sports and beer. He warns that this freedom is illusory and that the state will intervene with "heavy iron boots" if an individual truly disturbs the system. He cites the downfalls of figures like Al Capone and John Gotti as examples of how the system eventually reclaimed those who thought they were invincible.
