Eric Dollard announces his shift away from earthquake forecasting toward an entertainment-focused project called "Earth Stereo." By converting seismic movements into musical tones, he intends to allow listeners to experience the Earth's internal vibrations through headphones. This project aims to capture natural sounds like whistlers and auroral choruses, which Dollard believes is more likely to receive funding.

Eric Dollard is developing an "Earth stereo" system that converts seismic data from a mine into musical tones using a double sideband modulator. This project uses sophisticated transducers to turn the rocking and twisting of the Earth into an audio experience resembling wind chimes. The system is sensitive enough to detect electric fields and solar flares, allowing listeners to perceive the physical dimensions of the Earth through sound.
