Topic: Contagion Theory

The host mentions Dr. Tom Cowan's influence on his thinking regarding contagion and germ theory. They discuss the mystery of why hospital workers do not get sick more often if illness is purely based on proximity to germs. A humorous reference is made to an early episode of *The Simpsons* where Mr. Burns' diseases are so numerous they cancel each other out, illustrating the mental component of health.

Guest Daniel Roydas, a former lecturer in human nutrition and host of the Humanly podcast, joins the program to discuss his shift in perspective regarding modern medicine. After years of teaching naturopathy, Roydas began questioning the foundations of germ theory and viruses. His research culminated in the book "Can You Catch a Cold?", which investigates historical human experiments and challenges the prevailing narrative of how seasonal illnesses spread.

The episode concludes with an announcement of a live Q&A event featuring Sally Fallon Morel to discuss terrain theory and the history of contagion. Carlwood encourages listeners to join the Plus membership to access the second hour of the show and the full archive.
