The host mentions Mike Clellan’s "The Messengers," which explores the link between owls and UFO abductions, as a unique but highly specific runner-up. He also highlights Larry E. Arnold’s "Ablaze," the definitive textbook on spontaneous human combustion. The host notes that Charles Fort once theorized that spontaneous combustion could be the work of a "plasma predator" attacking humans.

Larry E. Arnold, the world's leading authority on Spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC), joins the program to discuss his lifelong research into the phenomenon. Arnold founded Parascience International in 1976 and authored the comprehensive 500-page work, Ablaze. The discussion highlights the graphic nature of SHC cases where bodies are reduced to ash while limbs often remain untouched, challenging conventional explanations like falling asleep with a cigarette.

Larry Arnold discusses the historical depth of SHC, citing a 1500s case involving a knight named Polonus Horstius recorded in 1674. Research into the database of 500 known cases once suggested a 33-year periodicity with clusters in 1870, 1905, and 1938, though this pattern has since become less predictable. Arnold refutes skeptics who claim the body's high water content makes spontaneous ignition impossible, citing documented photographic evidence.

Larry Arnold encourages listeners to report potential SHC cases to his research database to ensure they are investigated before being covered up or misrepresented. He provides his contact information and mentions that his book, Ablaze, is available for purchase on Amazon or directly for personalized inscriptions. Greg Carlwood concludes the interview by praising Arnold's expertise in the niche field of sudden human cremation.
