Fireside Chats, Podcast Format, and Audience Feedback
Greg Carlwood introduces the program by referencing Franklin Delano Roosevelt's 1930s radio broadcasts before discussing the show's independent production model. He addresses listener feedback regarding the balance of magic, conspiracy, and spiritual topics. This bonus episode marks a return to paranormal staples, specifically focusing on UFOs and extraterrestrial encounters.

00:04 In the 1930s, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed a nation through a series of radio broadcast known as the Fireside Chats. His aim was to reassure the common man that our society would recover from its troubled times but we're far from 1930 and I deal with a different kind of fire For a new era of worldly frustration We offer a fresh conversation! I'm Greg Carlwood These are The Hireside Chats How's it going Ironside Shatters, here we go drinking a little drink smoking a little smoke. I am your humble host Greg Carlwood just doing what i do here in sunny San Diego and anyone familiar with THC will know by now that the bulk of what I do is five two-hour shows a month the first hour free the second hours for $5 a month subscription and thanks so much for everyone who enjoys the show I put out and sees them as valuable in this digital sea of infinite options
00:59 I do appreciate it more than anything and sometimes i run into a guest who would rather do a shorter show or maybe their story is more suited for an hour episode, whatever it is. I usually just go with it And so occasionally we'll have an extra episode just thrown in as an added thank you for all the support and sharing of the show and near perfect reviews across all different platforms These things matter so much, especially to a show like THC. We don't have a news team or marketing strategists and I'm not a celebrity host at least not yet but i do everything I can to make the best conspiracy and paranormal show within my means and that's great but without listeners who help draw attention it wouldn't mean anything It wouldn't get any traction And by god lately we've had some serious traction
01:47 Thanks. But lately a few people have written me in disappointment that we've gotten way too much into magic or way too far into the conspiracy world, or even dabbling too much with spiritual and philosophical ideas and I try to make everyone happy...and the bigger audience gets, the more I'm finding that impossible But we're going to swing this pendulum back into the paranormal for the sake of the people who have asked. Because aliens and UFOs are definitely a THC staple, and you can only go so long before you really just have to pay some homage to that strangeness in the sky And today that is what were doing with one those oh-so extra bonus shows
