Clyde Lewis tells a story from the mid-1990s when he posted a leaked photo of an alleged alien found in the West Desert. After refusing to take the image down, his car was blown up as an act of intimidation. He describes his defiant response, which included doing a radio show on "grossology" to mock his pursuers, before eventually being warned by civilian-dressed military personnel about the private interests he had offended.

Geologist Robert Schoch and researcher John Anthony West provided evidence that the Sphinx exhibits deep water erosion patterns rather than wind and sand wear. This suggests the monument was built during a period of torrential rains, dating it to at least 8,000 to 10,000 years ago, long before the Sahara became a desert.
