Topic: Useless Eaters

Addressing why aliens do not openly communicate with humans, Maxwell compares the interaction to a human trying to explain relativity to an ant. He suggests that highly evolved extraterrestrial entities have no interest in conversing with a species they view as ignorant and self-centered. He further notes that the elite view the rapidly growing human population as "useless eaters" who are oblivious to the fact that their perceived freedoms are a recent and temporary phenomenon.
