Topic: Thetis Steamship

A high-evidence case from January 1892 involves the U.S. steamship Thetis off the coast of Baja California, Mexico. Witness George W. Crusell described a 50-foot-high object that changed shapes from a balloon to an hourglass before spreading across the water as a brilliant halo of light. Crusell, a serious-minded surveyor, reported the object moved with apparent intent for 15 minutes before disappearing inland.
