Topic: The Watchmen

The smiley face symbol has been seeded throughout popular culture, often carrying esoteric meanings related to smiling through tragedy or violence. Ed Sheeran's music video for "Bad Habits" is cited as being suffused with ONA-style imagery, including shapeshifting and vampire motifs. Other examples include Alan Moore's "The Watchmen" and the film "Fight Club," where the symbol is associated with transgressive behavior and underground cult networks.

Dr. Manhattan from The Watchmen is framed as a Christ archetype undergoing Kabbalistic apotheosis. His transformation from a scientist to a god-like figure involves alchemical themes and a dualistic nature, serving as the "savior" of the United States. The character's name references the Manhattan Project, and the story includes conspiratorial elements like the Moloch figure associated with Bohemian Grove.
