Pre-Kubrick 237 References, Alien, Ridley Scott
Fulton traces the use of the number 237 in films predating "The Shining," including "The Shop Around the Corner" (1940) and Woody Allen’s "Sleeper." He notes that Ridley Scott’s "Alien" features "Interface 2037" and was released 42 weeks before "The Shining." The segment concludes by noting that 2 times 3 times 7 equals 42, linking the two most prominent numbers in the study of cinematic synchronicity.
