Path of Souls and the Cygnus Connection
A collaborative effort between archaeologists and ethnographers at Texas State University revealed that mound builder symbols relate to a "Path of Souls" cosmology. This belief system centers on the constellations of Cygnus and Orion as gateways for the soul's journey after death. Greg Little and Andrew Collins utilized these findings to link North American mound rituals to broader ancient traditions regarding the stars.
