Topic: Sustainable Housing

Alternative building techniques like papercrete allow for the construction of highly insulative housing using waste materials. By mixing recycled paper slurry with a small amount of cement, builders can create 20-foot diameter domes for under $2,000. This method leverages the massive surplus of the modern waste stream to provide affordable shelter that requires minimal heating or cooling.

Sable outlines the immediate construction plans for the first "EarthBag Village," a housing model for 100 people costing under $400,000. The rollout includes a scholarship program for "pioneers" who will learn sustainable building techniques and act as ambassadors for future communities. Tourism is identified as a key revenue stream, with plans to host visitors in sustainable units by the second year of operations.
