The origin of the Kubrick moon landing theory is traced back to Bill Kaysing’s 1976 book, "We Never Went to the Moon." Snyder explains that while Kubrick consulted with NASA for "2001: A Space Odyssey," this was consistent with his habit of hiring experts for all projects, including his unrealized Napoleon film. Analysis of Kubrick’s daily records shows no undocumented time frames where he could have realistically filmed secret lunar footage.

NASA faces criticism for allegedly misleading the public regarding the immediate dangers of the cosmic environment. Astronomers have identified the Taurid meteor stream, a 30-million-kilometer-wide debris trail from the comet that caused the Younger Dryas cataclysm, as a persistent threat. The 1908 Tunguska event in Siberia is cited as a recent example of debris from this stream impacting Earth, highlighting the need to divert military and vanity budgets toward planetary defense technology.
