Soil Science comes up in 2 chapters across 2 episodes of The Higherside Chats Free Show, from January 2019 to December 2021.
Permaculture Design, Sacred Geometry and Lost Technologies
Winner explains the layout of the Alpha Vedic farm, which follows permaculture zoning and incorporates sacred geometry and biogeometry. The conversation touches on the idea of lost analog technologies from eras like Tartaria and how these principles are applied to soil health and electrical polarization for plant growth.
Terra Preta, Biochar Production and Amazonian Soil Engineering
Terra Preta is a highly fertile, human-created black soil found in the Amazon that rejuvenates itself over time. It is produced through the creation of biochar—organic charcoal made in low-oxygen environments—which retains water and nutrients effectively. Some theorists suggest the Amazon rainforest itself may be a massive, ancient permaculture landscape engineered by indigenous populations.
