The myth of Medusa is contextualized as a historical reality involving Scythian horse cultures and "Amazonian" huntresses who used paralytic arrow poisons. Dr. Hillman explains that "Medusa" refers to a priestess or assassin trained in the chronic administration of viper venom, which granted immunity and altered their physiology. These cultures utilized advanced chemical warfare, including combustible "jelly" fires and mania-inducing toxins, to overwhelm Roman and Athenian forces.

Archaeological evidence suggests human interaction with hemp fibers dates back 25,000 years, with hemp rope appearing 24,000 years ago. Chris Bennett discusses how the Scythian culture played a primary role in spreading cannabis use throughout the ancient world. He notes that the development of horse riding was likely facilitated by the manufacturing of strong hemp ropes for corralling.
