Russian Translators comes up in 3 chapters across 2 episodes of The Higherside Chats Free Show, from June 2015 to August 2015.
Boris Hatibov, Missing Russian Data and Translation Challenges
The guests discuss the difficulty of accessing the full scope of Boris Hatibov's work, noting that while some data is online, there are allegedly over 16,000 pages of material that remain untranslated or missing. They emphasize the analytical effort required to systematize these Russian texts for English speakers.
Information Suppression, Disappearing Russian Documents
Crow 777 reports that Russian translators expressed concern over Hatibov's documents disappearing from the internet as they gained popularity on YouTube. Several links to primary source materials have reportedly gone dead, suggesting an active effort to "plug the hole" of information.
Pronunciation of Hadibov and Technical Translation Barriers
A brief discussion occurs regarding the correct pronunciation of the Russian scientist's name, settling on "Hadibov" with a "v" sound. They acknowledge the difficulty of translating complex, technical Russian concepts into English. The foreign nature of the research makes it difficult to distinguish between reality and science fiction during the translation process.
