Queen of Cups, Polyxena, and the Serpent-Born Ophiogeneis
The Queen of Cups and related cards reference human sacrifice and the "Alexander Romance" literature. Adams connects these figures to the Trojan War and the region of Troy, which the geographer Strabo described as the realm of the "Ophiogeneis" or serpent-born. This links the deck to the esoteric tradition of the "Azoetia" and the concept of hybrid bloodlines originating from serpent entities.
