Ancient Greek Accounts of Hyperborea and Stonehenge
McIntosh traces the concept of Hyperborea back to the Greek mariner Pytheas, who sailed from Massalia to the far North. The Greeks described a fabled land beyond the north wind, sometimes called Thule, inhabited by an advanced civilization. McIntosh suggests that megalithic structures like Stonehenge may be "footprints" left by Hyperboreans migrating south as the climate changed.
