Gordon White | The State of Conspiracy Culture, The Empire’s New Pivot, & Bilbo Baggins
Flat Earth, QAnon, Complexity Avoidance in Alternative Media
The discussion pivots to the rise of "dumbed down" conspiracy theories like Flat Earth, the QAnon "God Emperor" narrative, and claims that Australia is fake. White argues these theories are a psychological reaction to an increasingly complex world, allowing people to reduce geopolitical nuances to zero. He compares this to "normie" behavior, such as watching Rachel Maddow, where complex international relations are simplified into digestible, often inaccurate, stories to avoid the fear of economic and geopolitical instability.
