Clapham Woods Mystery and the Friends of Hecate
Clapham Woods in West Sussex, England, became a center of mystery in the 1960s and 70s due to UFO sightings, disappearing dogs, and unexplained human deaths. Victims included ex-Marine Peter Goldsmith and a local vicar, whose bodies were found in states that baffled investigators, including one case of accelerated decomposition. Researcher Charles Walker was reportedly warned to stop investigating by a man claiming to represent a group called the Friends of Hecate, linked to the goddess of witchcraft.
