A.T.L. Carver | Meme Magic: Pepe, Trump, & The Cult of Kek
Egyptian Mythology, Kek and the God of Chaos
The name "Kek" originated on 4chan as a variation of "LOL" derived from World of Warcraft's Korean language filters, but users later discovered Kek was an ancient Egyptian frog-headed god. In the Ogdoad pantheon, Kek represents darkness, obscurity, and the chaos that exists before light. The discussion links this "darkness before the dawn" archetype to Donald Trump's role as a disruptive candidate in the 2016 election.
