History of Didactylomancy, Oracle of Zeus, and Mesmerism
The hosts trace the history of pendulum use, or didactylomancy, back to the Oracle of Zeus at Dodona and a 371 BC alphabet plate. They discuss an 1825 case involving mesmerist Pascal Billot, who discovered he could communicate with a patient's "holy guardian angel" through involuntary knee movements. This historical precedent mirrors modern idiomotor response techniques used in clinical and spiritual settings.
