Mass Graves, Unmarked Burials and Controlled Disclosure
Recent investigations using ground-penetrating radar have uncovered thousands of unmarked graves at former residential school sites, including 215 bodies at Kamloops and 751 at Maryvale. While some suggest these were simply neglected cemeteries, others believe the current discoveries are a "controlled release" of information. Activists like Kevin Annett have claimed for decades that the actual number of deaths is significantly higher than the official reports.
