Chris Knowles | Song To The Siren, Invoked Entities, & Rebuilding Babylon
David Lynch, Twin Peaks and the Trauma of Laura Palmer
Director David Lynch's obsession with Elizabeth Frazier is explored, noting his desire to use "Song to the Siren" in "Blue Velvet" and its eventual use in "Lost Highway." The character of Laura Palmer is interpreted as Lynch's manifestation of the trauma and "howling" he heard in Frazier's voice. The segment suggests that the "Bang Bang Bar" performances in "Twin Peaks: The Return" are a direct homage to this musical influence.
