Lifelike Qualities of Plasma, The Ladder to Heaven
Irving Langmuir coined the term "plasma" due to its lifelike behavior, a quality that led ancient civilizations to anthropomorphize plasma formations in the sky. Concepts like the "Ladder to Heaven," the "World Tree," and the "World Mountain" are interpreted as descriptions of glow discharge columns stretching from Earth into space. The pyramids and other ancient structures may have been built to echo these triangular plasma pinnacles.
