Robert Sullivan | Cinema Symbolism & The Esoteric Archetypes of Hollywood
Ian Fleming, Aleister Crowley and the 007 John Dee Connection
The origin of James Bond's 007 designation is traced back to the Elizabethan magician and spy Dr. John Dee, who signed his private correspondence to Queen Elizabeth I with a similar symbol. Robert W. Sullivan IV explains that Bond creator Ian Fleming was heavily influenced by the occult through his intelligence work with Aleister Crowley. The segment explores the intersection of British espionage and Hermetic magic during World War II.
