Dr. Robert Heath at Tulane University conducted experiments in the early 1970s involving the use of brain electrode implants to "treat" homosexuality. One specific case involved a young man who was given a transmitter to stimulate his brain's pleasure centers while viewing heterosexual pornography. Despite the subject's compulsive use of the device, the experiment was published in professional journals as a successful conversion, illustrating the extreme nature of sanctioned psychiatric research.

Confessions recorded in the Chinon Parchment detail specific Templar initiation rites, including spitting on the cross and denying Christ. The documents also describe a formal policy regarding sexual conduct where knights were instructed to seek "relief" with one another to maintain their vow of avoiding women. These practices were framed within the order as a form of piety, despite their blasphemous and unconventional nature.
