Topic: Gary Caridori

Private investigator Gary Caridori was hired by a Nebraska Senate subcommittee to investigate Lawrence E. King following the discovery of a $40 million embezzlement scheme. Caridori successfully recorded victim testimonies and obtained incriminating photographs from a former associate of King in Chicago. However, Caridori died when his plane mysteriously broke up in mid-air while returning to Nebraska, and the evidence he was carrying was never recovered.

Former CIA Director William Colby was hired to investigate the death of Gary Caridori and privately expressed his belief that the investigator had been murdered. Colby, who served as CIA head until being replaced by George H.W. Bush in 1976, later died under suspicious circumstances himself. His body was found after he reportedly left his home for a kayaking trip while leaving his dinner half-eaten on the table.
