Diana Walsh Pasulka | Entity Encounters, The Order Of The Dolphin, & The Electric Raccoon
External Agents, Cognitive Science and the Psychoid
Pasulka examines whether the entities encountered in high strangeness events are autonomous beings or projections of the human mind. She references cognitive science research showing that the brain's frontal lobe shuts down during extreme creative states, leading individuals to attribute their ideas to "external agents." The segment also introduces Carl Jung’s concept of the "psychoid," an objective reality existing outside the subjective mind that Jung believed could explain UFO phenomena.
