David Angell and the 9/11 Synchronicity
A striking synchronicity connects the fictional Professor George Gammell Angell from The Call of Cthulhu to real-life television producer David Angell. David Angell, known for his work on Cheers and Frasier, died in the North Tower during the September 11 attacks. This connection between the name "Angell," the city of Providence, and a world-changing event involving "mad Arabs" served as a primary inspiration for the narrative of The Lovecraft Code.
