Notre Dame Fire, Feast of Fools and January 6th
The 2019 Notre Dame fire is interpreted as the symbolic kickoff for a global "Feast of Fools" pageant that culminated in the January 6th Capitol riot. Donald Trump is cast in the role of the "King of Fools," a figure traditionally crowned during the Twelfth Night celebrations. The segment notes that the Mardi Gras season in New Orleans also begins on January 6th, further linking the political event to ancient carnivalesque rituals.
