In 1950, T. Townsend Brown demonstrated electro-gravitic propulsion and a "gravitational communication" system at Pearl Harbor. Shatzkin explains that the communication system allowed for instantaneous messaging by "tugging" on the structure of space. However, the discovery of a Soviet mole linked to the Kim Philby spy ring led Brown to sabotage his own reputation to protect the technology from falling into enemy hands.
