Topic: Duckduckgo

DuckDuckGo's decision to down-rank certain content has led privacy advocates to seek other search alternatives. While the Tor browser is a primary tool, other engines like Yandex or Bing can be used to find information that might be suppressed by Google. Many users are moving toward private communities on Telegram, Discord, or Matrix to share news outside of mainstream guardrails.

Robert David Steele claims Google was built on the theft of Yahoo's search engine and secret CIA funding, characterizing the company as a "light version of the NSA." He criticizes Larry Page for prioritizing venture capital interests over the public good and alleges that Google manipulates search results for paid interests. Steele expresses support for "Google killers" like DuckDuckGo and the development of open-source alternatives.
