Ego as a Block to Reality, Higher Self Connection
The self-constructed ego often acts as a barrier to perceiving true reality, a concept illustrated by the relationship between Don Juan and Carlos Castaneda. Overcoming this block allows for "gnosis," or direct knowledge of the divine, which is accessed through the higher self rather than external entities. This connection to a non-corporeal, higher-vibrational density is the ultimate goal of alchemical and spiritual work.
