Topic: Dianne Feinstein

Recent congressional hearings featured lawmakers like Dianne Feinstein and Jackie Speier pressuring tech executives from Google, Facebook, and Twitter to censor content. Specifically, representatives questioned why networks like Russia Today (RT) are permitted on these platforms. This trend suggests that both political parties view the open internet as a threat to their control, leading to bipartisan interest in regulating online speech.

The 1978 double assassination of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk by Dan White led to the rise of Dianne Feinstein. White's legal team famously employed the "Twinkie Defense," claiming his mental state was compromised by a high-sugar diet, resulting in a lenient sentence. This violent political shift in San Francisco created a vacuum that influenced local military and administrative hiring practices.
