Darren Shaffer, host of the Cooper Vortex podcast, joins the program to discuss the 1971 DB Cooper skyjacking. Shaffer explains his personal entry into the "Cooper Vortex" while living near the suspected drop zone in Woodland, Washington. He cites Jeffrey Gray's book Skyjack and Robert Blevins' work as primary catalysts for his deep dive into the case's extensive suspect list.

While the long-standing "DB Cooper Days" in Ariel, Washington ended following the death of store owner Donna Elliott, the tradition continues with CooperCon in Portland. The event at the Kiggins Theater features speakers like Marty Andrade and Eric Ulis, as well as tours of the flight path and a Cooper-themed escape room. The pilot's daughter is also scheduled to speak about her father's experience during the 1971 hijacking.

The episode concludes with a summary of second-hour topics, including potential links to the Zodiac Killer and Alcatraz escapees. Carlwood encourages listeners to support the show via Higher Side Chats Plus to avoid corporate branding like Disney Plus. He offers final praise for the organizers of live events like CooperCon before closing with the show's signature outro music.
