Ryan Peverly | Wilhelm Reich, Orgone Energy, & The Emotional Plague Of Mankind
Libido and the Energetic Component of Mental Health
Wilhelm Reich transitioned from Freud's concept of libido to a more tangible definition of sexual energy as a fundamental biological force. He observed that patients suffering from neurosis or psychosis often had physical and energetic blockages in their bodies. By moving beyond traditional talk therapy into energy work, Reich sought to restore the natural flow of this energy to treat mental health disorders.
